5th Annual Family STEM Night – Sneak Peak #6

The 5th Annual Family STEM Night will be on Tuesday, November 12, from 5:45 – 8 pm at Norphlet Middle School.  The event is open to all Kindergarten through 12th grade students, parents, faculty/staff, and community members.

How to Win a Door Prize

  1. Choose a cool STEM activity to do!
  2. Receive a ticket when you complete the STEM activity.
  3. Put your name and phone number on the ticket and return it to the ticket table in the middle of the NMS hallway or in the foyer of the NMS gymnasium.
  4. Join us at 7:30 pm in the new NMS gymnasium for a laser light show presented by Lockheed Martin followed by the drawing for door prizes.

You must be present at the drawing to win.  Only one door prize per person.  Door prizes are for K-12 students only.

 

Smackover 4-H Meeting

There will be a Smackover 4-H meeting on Tuesday, November 5 at 3:45 pm in Hobgood Auditorium.

The program will be presented by UCAPS. They will talk about how we can help them without spending any money.

Please bring old news papers and old t-shirts that you could donate to the animals. We will be making dog toys out of the old t-shirts.

5th Annual Family STEM Night – Sneak Peak #5

The Grand Finale for the 5th Annual Family STEM Night will be held in the Norphlet Middle School New Gymnasium beginning at 7:30 pm.

  • Senator Trent Garner will make a brief presentation encouraging students to explore STEM careers available in South Arkansas.
  • Lockheed Martin will present another fabulous closing laser light show!
  • We will close out the evening by drawing for fabulous door prizes!

Cross Country Team Excels

The Junior Cross Country Team competed at Hermitage last week.
  • The Junior Girls won the meet.
  • The Junior Boys came in 2nd.
  • 4 girls and 2 boys finish in the top 10.
Our girls team is made up of seven 7th graders, three 8th graders, and no 9th graders. The boys are made up of nine 7th graders, one 8th grader, and no 9th graders.
In addition, people from Hermitage reported that they were watching our teams throughout the day and were so impressed with our sportsmanship and the way the kids conducted themselves.
Way to go, Buckaroos!
