SNSD Board Meets to discuss COVID related Items

Good Afternoon SNSD,

As many of you are aware, we held a special called board meeting last night to discuss COVID related situations and how we as a district will proceed.
We are very appreciative to our community members that attended, the information they provided, and how productive last night was for all in attendance. We also appreciate the efforts of our school board, who have navigated this situation well considering the circumstances.
At this time, SNSD will continue to closely monitor this situation and will make adjustments with a sense of urgency if/when data changes. In addition, COVID related topics will be discussed at each regularly scheduled board meeting.
As parents, we can all agree that we want our kids in school despite differing thoughts on COVID related topics.  For example, on August 23rd, SNSD had 20 students out due to COVID, as of today, roughly one week later, SNSD has 117 students out due to COVID related situations. As we monitor these trends and numbers, we have to be mindful of our students being sent home and take the necessary steps to minimize this situation.
The information provided below will give you insight into our governing body DESE (Division of Elementary & Secondary Education) and their relationship/partnership with the ADH (Arkansas Department of Health) as it pertains to quarantine guidance and how public schools in Arkansas are obligated to navigate these processes.
On behalf of our school board, teachers, and staff, we thank you for entrusting us with your children and know our main goal is to keep our students in school.
Go Bucks!

Buckaroos for the WIN

Congrats to Coach Osborn and the Bucks on their 35-0 win over Parker’s Chapel! This marks Coach Osborn’s first varsity head coaching win on the sideline! Last he got his first official win but was not on the sideline due to Covid protocols. Go Bucks!
