LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas has been selected by the national FFA organization (formerly known as Future Farmers of America) this year as the one state to be visited by the organization’s six-person panel of national officers during their annual National Officer Experience tour. Each year the National FFA selects one state to host the officers; this is the first time Arkansas has been selected.

The student officers, representing their home states of Florida, Kentucky, Alabama, Nebraska, California and Georgia, will be in Arkansas from January 6 through January 14 visiting with 1600 FFA members statewide. The national officers, hosted by state-level FFA officers and sponsors, will present leadership workshops and offer motivational speeches to the FFA members. They will also meet with key members of the state’s agriculture industry, with political leaders, and with Governor Beebe.

The following cities were on the tour schedule: Siloam Springs, Fayetteville, Waldron, Paris, Russellville, Greenbrier, Mountain Home, Paragould, Jonesboro, Brinkley, Beebe, Little Rock, Magnet Cove and Mena. The last stop is at the organization’s Camp Couchdale in Hot Springs. The Smackover FFA Students met them at the last stop on the tour.  Pictured above is (L-R) National Officers Wiley Bailey, Joenelle Furtell, Kalie Hall, Smackover Students Brooke Roden, Luke Bussell, Grace Nash, the remainder of the officer team Lindsey Anderson, Brennan Costello, and Clay Sapp.
