From the Office of the Superintendent

Good Morning Smackover-Norphlet Stakeholders:

This is an informational message only.

We are aware of a post that is circulating on social media referencing a threat of a potential school shooting in Arkansas. The SNSD has been in contact with local law enforcement officials. The message was general in nature and did not specifically reference SNSD nor the surrounding area.

However, we take all threats seriously and it is our commitment to remain vigilant regarding our security efforts to keep our students and staff safe. It takes all of us working together to ensure that our campuses are safe.

Our admin and school resource officers are aware of the situation and will be monitoring the situation.

This is an opportune time to remind our community that if they “see something, please say something.” We appreciate the support you provide to us daily. We will update you if we learn of any new information. Below is a statement from the Arkansas State Police.

Surrounding districts have also provided similar messages to their stakeholders.
