SHS Student Receives USAF Academy Appointment
Smackover High School is proud to announce that Senior Krisanna Reynolds has received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy and will join the Cadet Wing to become a member of the Class of 2020.
She joins a select group of our nation’s finest young people by taking this challenge. She will begin her climb toward becoming a professional Air Force officer.
Only about 1,200 of the 9,700 applicants received this honor this year.
Krisanna’s accomplishments show that she is one of the best of the best, and we are proud that her SHS academic excellence has served her well.
We wish her the best as she represents this school,this community, the great state of Arkansas, and indeed the United States as she joins the prestigious United States Air Force Academy.

Reminder of Parent Teacher Conference Changes
Smackover-Norphlet School District has changed the dates of Spring Parent Teacher Conferences. Please make note of the new dates:
Monday, February 8, 2016
- All schools will dismiss at 1 pm.
- Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Norphlet Elementary and Norphlet Middle School Campuses beginning at 1:30 pm.
Thursday, February 11, 2016
- All schools will dismiss at 1 pm.
- Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Smackover Elementary and Smackover High School Campuses beginning at 1:30 pm.
SES to Celebrate 100th Day of School
The 100th day of school will be Monday, January 25.
Smackover Elementary School activities which were originally planned for Friday will be done on Monday!

Monday Night Basketball Games Canceled
The Junior High and 7th grade basketball games scheduled for January 25 at Parkers Chapel have been canceled due to the rescheduling of the conference game.
Friday Night Games Postponed
Tonight’s basketball games at Fordyce have been cancelled.
The games have been rescheduled for Monday, January 25, at 5 pm.
Pee Wee Basketball Games Postponed
Pee Wee basketball games scheduled to begin tomorrow (Saturday, January 23) have been postponed until Thursday, January 28.
The games will follow the same schedule order with the first game beginning at 5 pm.
NMS to Publish Cookbook
The Norphlet Middle School PTO is publishing a community cookbook. The cookbooks will feature recipes from the Smackover and Norphlet communities as well as Norplet Middle School student art.
Cookbooks can be ordered from any NMS student until February 12 for only $10 each.
These will make great gifts and will be ready to pick up in time for Mother’s Day.
We also need your recipes!
Please print carefully your recipe on the form attached to this notice and return to the NMS office. All recipes will be included in the cookbook with the name(s) printed exactly how you provide them with each submission.
