SNSD Closed Wednesday, Feb. 1
From SNSD Superintendent Robby Frizzell:
“Buckaroo Nation, due to the threat of winter weather, all schools in the Smackover-Norphlet School District will be closed Wednesday, February 1, 2023.”
SHS Concurrent Classes Meeting Rescheduled
Smackover High School will host a mandatory concurrent meeting for students in grades 10-11 that are interested in taking concurrent (college) classes for the 2023-2024 school year. The meeting was originally scheduled for Feb. 2 bu has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb 6, at 6 p.m. in Hobgood Auditorium. Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend.
Today’s Athletic Events Canceled
From Coach Osborn: The Smackover Norphlet School District will cancel all athletics after school for today. This will include the use of all athletic facilities.
Smackover Norphlet Preschool Afterschool Early Release
Due to the inclement weather for South Arkansas, the Smackover Norphlet preschool afterschool program will end today at 4:00pm. If your student attends the afterschool program, please make arrangements for your student(s) to be picked up.

Basketball Postponed
Per Coach Osborn, tonight’s home basketball games vs. McGehee have been postponed until Thursday, Feb. 2, at 5 p.m. The games will still be played in Smackover.

Speaking Of Geography
Norphlet Middle School students in Mr. Yates’s seventh-grade honors classes prepared and gave speeches. The speech was on the five themes of geography of a state or city of students’ choice.
