Registration for SHS

Due to the nature of creating high school schedules, no schedules will be distributed prior to the registration dates.

Registration for Smackover High School will be held at the following times:

August 7, 2013

  • 12th grade:  8 am to 10 am
  • 11th grade:  10 am to 12 pm
  • 10th grade:  1 pm to 3 pm

August 8, 2013

  • 9th grade:  8 am to 10 am
  • 8th grade:  10 am to 12 pm

August 15, 2013

  • 7th grade and all new students registration:  6 pm

The high school open house will also be held on August 15 at 6 pm.  The open house is for all 7th – 12 grade students and their parents/guardians.

Reception to Welcome the New Superintendent

The Smackover School District and the District Board of Directors would like to cordially invite you to a come and go reception to meet  new superintendent, Dave Wilcox.

  • When:  Thursday, August 15, 2013
  • Where:  School Cafeteria
  • Time:  6:00 pm

The elementary and high school open houses will also be held on the evening of August 15.  Parent, students, and community members are encouraged to attend.

July School Board Meeting

The Smackover School District Board of Directors met in regular session on Monday, July 15, 2013.  Highlights from the meeting include:

  • Reported that Smackover Preschool’s Arkansas Better Chance (ABC) grant application has been approved by the State Board of Education.
  • Approved the Smackover Preschool Handbook.
  • Approved policies related to board governance; licensed personnel;  students; curriculum and instruction; school, home, and community; business and financial management; and classified personnel.
  • Hired Charli Neal as an elementary teacher and Mike Moss as a high school teacher/coach.
  • Approved the Discipline of Students with Disabilities Section of the 2013-2014 Smackover High School Handbook.

The Smackover School District Board of Directors meets in regular session on the third Monday of every month at 5:30 pm in the board room at the central office.  The public is invited to attend.

SES Class Lists to be Posted on August 8

Classroom lists for elementary students will be posted on the The Buckaroo Blog on Thursday, August 8, at 8 am.  Class lists will also be posted on the front doors of the elementary school on that day.
