Smackover-Norphlet Public Schools is currently accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year for the classified positions of:

Baby Room  (Smackover Preschool)

3 and 4 year Old Paraprofessional (Smackover Preschool) – Requires a CDA

Senior Pictures

Senior pictures will be made Tuesday, August 8th.

The pictures for boys will be made during the morning hours and the pictures for girls will be made in the afternoon.

Students should receive information by mail or you can call Winning Streak Photography to schedule an appointment.

Basketball Fundraiser

Coach Reginald Turner and the Smackover High School boys’ basketball team are having a BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, August 5, at Northwest Village in El Dorado from 11 am – 1 pm!

The meal consists of a leg quarter, baked beans, potato salad, and a drink.  The cost will be $10.

Email Coach Turner at reginald.turner@smackover.net if you’d like some good BBQ! He will deliver to Smackover!

Open House

The Smackover-Norphlet School District Open House will be Thursday, August 10, from 5 – 7 pm on the following campuses:

  • Smackover Preschool
  • Norphlet Elementary School
  • Smackover Elementary School
  • Norphlet Middle School
  • Smackover High School

SHS Schedule Pick Up

Smackover High School students may pick up their  2017-2018 class schedules on the following dates:

  • Seniors – July 31 from 8:30 am – 11 am
  • Juniors – July 31 from 1 pm – 3:30 pm
  • Sophomores – August 1 from 8:30 am – 11 am
  • Freshmen – August 1 from 1 pm – 3:30 pm
  • Make Up Day – August 2

Summer Band Information

Summer band camp dates:

  • July 24 – 26:  Percussion Camp in the band room (9am – 12 pm)
  • July 31 – August 4:  Full Band (7:30 am – 3 pm; Lunch on your own from 12 pm -1 pm)
  • August 7 – 8:  Full Band (4 pm – 6 pm)
  • August 9 – 10:  Full Band (7:30 am – 3 pm; Lunch on your own from 12 pm -1 pm)

Information for summer band camp:

  • Since the band will be marching outside in the morning, please wear appropriate attire:  tennis shoes, cool clothing, hats, etc.
  • No sandals, flip flops, or dress shoes.
  • Bring your own water jug (labeled with your name) for outdoor practices.
  • Eat breakfast before you come.
  • Band fees will be due the first week of summer band camp.

Band expenses and supply list:

  • Uniform cleaning:  $11
  • Band T-Shirt:  $10
  • Band shoes (if you need them):  $30
  • Black socks purchased from a department store
  • Flip folder, instrument lyre, reeds, valve oil, slide oil, and pencils
