Early dismissal times for Parent Teacher Conferences will be announced.

Smackover-Norphlet Youth Softball Meeting

There will be a Smackover-Norphlet Youth Softball Meeting on Monday, January 30th, at 5:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Smackover City Hall Conference Room.

All coaches, anyone interested in coaching, and parents are invited to attend.

We will be discussing and voting on items such as: rosters, dues and fees, scheduling, etc.

SHS Cheer Team Presented Citation

The State 3A Championship Cheer Team from Smackover High School was presented a Citation from the Arkansas House of Representatives State Representative Sonia Barker. The Citation was presented to the Cheer Team at the Board of Education meeting on Monday night.

Additionally, Coach Clarice Long was recognized as the Smackover-Norphlet School District Employee of the Month by Smackover High School Principal Jan Henderson.

Congratulation to the Cheer Team and Coach Clarice Long for this recognition!

SES Dress Up Day

Tuesday, January 31, is National Backwards Day. Smackover Elementary School students may wear something backwards to school on that day.

Spinning Tops

Norphlet Middle School students in Mrs. Boerwinkles’ STEM class created spinning tops from materials provided.

“Miss” Smackover-Norphlet Pageant

The “Miss” Smackover-Norphlet Pageant will be held this Saturday, January 28th, at 5:30 pm at the Norphlet Gymnasium.

Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students.

Come and be prepared to laugh!

K Students Prepare for More Broken Arms!

Smackover Elementary School kindergarten students in Mrs. Jameson’s class also designed casts as the culminating project in their PLTW Human Body module. In this module, students learned about bones, muscles, body organs, and more!

While we don’t want any student or employee to get hurt while at school, at least we know our kindergarten students are prepared in case of an emergency!

NMS to Begin Program to Increase Student Achievement

The Norphlet Middle School faculty will begin a new program this week entitled Lunch Crunch. This program is designed to improve student achievement and success.

K Students Design Casts

As the final part of the PLTW Structure and Function: Human Body Module, Smackover Elementary School kindergarten students had to design a cast that met the following criteria:
