Trash To Treasure

Students in Mrs. Rainwater’s classes at Norphlet Middle School created altered books! The books were headed to the trash but her students turned them into art! These pieces of art were entered in the Union County Fair and came home with a blue ribbon! Congratulations students! SHS Students Shine At County Fair

Last week, SHS Spanish Club, HOSA, FFA, and Ms. Herrera’s BUCKS Time class won ribbons at the Union County Fair!

SHS Spanish Club created an exhibit based upon the holiday called Dia de los Muertos that will be celebrated in many Spanish-speaking countries in October and November. This Dia de los Muertos exhibit won 1st Place taking home a blue ribbon.

HOSA highlighted Vet Science within their exhibit. HOSA displayed a trifold board with interesting facts about Vet Science, their Smackover HOSA Banner, and a visual representation of a dog with a cone collar on! This exhibit was put together by Mrs. Owen, Kaleigh Jerry, Avery Neal, and Madison Franklin.  The HOSA exhibit won 2nd Place, taking home a red ribbon.

FFA created an exhibit showcasing recent awards won by their members, an official FFA jacket, officer station markers, and their national FFA banner. The FFA exhibit won 2nd Place taking home a red ribbon. Ms. Herrera’s BUCKS time class created an exhibit in which they wrote words that they thought described what it means to be a Buckaroo. Some of the words the students chose were “family,” “buck proud,” “100 years strong,” “kind,” “full of spirit,” “supportive,” and “powerful.” This exhibit won 3rd Place and took home a white ribbon.

Great job by all!
