Elementary Students Visit with an Author

Smackover Elementary School and Norphlet Elementary School students recently visited with children’s picture book author, Doreen Cronin who is the author of the famous Click, Clack series, including Click, Clack, Moo!, as well as The Chicken Squad Series, the Bug Diaries, and many more books for children.

Although Ms. Cronin was in New York, the first and second grade students were still able to see, hear, and speak with her through Skype.

Ms. Cronin read one of her books to the students and encouraged them to participate in the reading.  She also told students that she became an author at age 8 when she completed an assignment for her teacher…All About Me!  She encouraged the students to write and illustrate about themselves.

The students were given opportunity to ask Doreen Cronin questions about her life or writing.  After the Skype visit, the students played together on the Norphlet campus playground.
