FBLA Spring Conference

The Smackover High School FBLA did a great job at the District III FBLA Spring Conference in Pine Bluff last week.  Alex Savage was elected to Vice-President of District III FBLA.  Also, the following students placed in their respective competitive events and now qualify to compete at the state leadership conference:

Coloring for College

This September, 75 lucky Arkansas students will win a $529 Arkansas GIFT College Savings Plan account contribution to be used for higher education!

The initiative runs September 1 – 30 in celebration of College Savings Month, and is open to students enrolled in any public or private Arkansas kindergarten, as well as kindergarten age children being home schooled in Arkansas.

Scholarship Title: Union County Community Foundation Scholarships (Ella Louise Simms Scholarship, Terri Fite Tennyson Scholarship, Smackover High School Educational Fund)

Qualifications for eligibility (Ella Louise Simms Scholarship):

  • African-American student

  • Academic merit
  • Financial need

Scholarship Title: Arkansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Scholarship (2 $500 scholarships)

Directions:  Complete the application (see link below) and mail it to:  AASFAA Scholarship, c/o Toni Carter, Financial Aid, PCCUA, 2807 Hwy. 165 S. Box A, Stuttgart, AR  72160  (Application must be postmarked by April 1.)
