Director of Technology
Brian Arnold grew up in Eldorado, Arkansas. He has worked in the Technology field for 20+ years, at Murphy USA to a Systems Analyst position at Teris LLC.
Mr. Arnold has spent the last 15 years working as the Network Administrator for the Magnolia Public School District, where he was involved in the network design and replacement of wired infrastructure and implementation of wireless overlay for the entire district. He also has experience in the day to day operation of the Technology Department of the Information Systems to ensure the district meets state standards. He has worked extensively with administrators and classroom educators to improve available technology and training to meet their needs.
Mr. Arnold brings a desire to ensure students have the opportunity to gain experience in the field of technology, and to help provide everyone the opportunity to expand their knowledge. He looks forward to working with the Smackover-Norphlet Staff and Administration to give all students access to the technology that will help them succeed in their chosen field of study.
Smackover Elementary Principal
Gary Steelman, graduated from Camden Fairview High School and received his Bachelors and Master’s degrees from Southern Arkansas University. He started his career in education as a teacher and coach where he was a part of seven conference championships and a state championship as a football coach. In addition, he was part of two Conference and State Championships in Basketball.
Mr. Steelman is in his seventh year as a High School Principal. He has had 17 years of experience in public education with 13 being in administrative positions (Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and Principal). His passion for students is evident in the way he communicates and relates with his students on a daily basis. He has always been and will continue to be committed to providing a safe environment and a high quality education to every student every day!!
Mr. Steelman is married to Alicia, a teacher and administrator with over 20 years of public education as well. They have a 5-year-old son, Baylor who loves to play t-ball and harass his two dogs (Trooper and Heisman). Mr. Steelman looks forward to leading Smackover Elementary School.
Hallie Woods, graduated from Michigan State University with a major in Special Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. After graduation, she moved to Arkansas with her family and began working at Norphlet Middle School where she has been in the Special Education Department for 5 years.
During her time at Norphlet, Mrs. Woods pursued a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Harding University. Mrs. Woods is a team player with students, colleagues, and staff. Her focus is to ensure all students have the opportunity to meet his or her needs and reach their full potential. Her passion is working alongside all learners, helping them grow and explore their strengths.
