Welcome Back!!!

It’s been 163 days…

5 1/2 months…

since March 13 (which was our last day together.)

But today we are back!

We ARE the Buckaroos!

WELCOME BACK TO THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR!

Parents, thank you for trusting us with your children this year.  Our goal is to keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy!

SES Info for 2020-21 School Year

1. Students are to arrive no earlier than 7:20am.  Once students enter the building, they are to go to the cafeteria for breakfast OR sit outside their classroom until they enter their homeroom classroom at 7:30am.  Note:  Parents are encouraged to drop off after 7:30, however understanding that some parents must drop off by 7:20.

2. SES students must be dropped off and enter through the kindergarten or fourth grade drop off locations.  Parents (grades 1-4) are asked to not enter into the main building.  Kindergarten students may have one parent walk them into the school if they choose.

3. School will begin at 7:55 each day.  The doors are locked at 7:50am.  If you arrive after 7:50, you will need to bring your student into the front door and check him/her in.

4. All students are required to wear a face covering upon entering the SES building.  Students are welcome to bring their own mask.  If a student does not have access to a mask, he/she will be given one at the entrance.  Cloth masks and lanyards will be provided for students to use each day.  It is the parent’s responsibility to wash and return the mask each day to school with their student.

5. Masks will be worn while students cannot socially distance (during transitions, to and from recess and lunch, cannot be 5-6 feet apart within the classroom, etc…).  When students are able to socially distance, teachers will instruct students to take their mask off and clip to their lanyard.

6. Temperatures will NOT be taken daily as students enter the SES building.  Therefore, parents are strongly encouraged to check their students for fever each morning prior to sending to school.  A student must be free of fever  for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before going to school.

7. Virtual students – Students will log in beginning at 7:55 until 3:05 each day.  Virtual students will be responsible for picking up their work each Friday between 12:00 and 2:00pm.  You will turn in the work from the previous week at this same time.

Smackover Elementary School’s primary goal is safety for students and staff as we educate students to have the necessary skills in order to be successful in all aspects of life.

Thank you to the SES staff for all you have done so far in preparation for making 2020-2021 a place where students are safe and feel safe to learn and grow!
