Smackover Shooting Sports Excel

Smackover Shooting Sports participated in the Regional Tournament Friday and Saturday.  Jr. High Squad 1 qualified for State and placed 7th out of around 200 teams and Sr. High Squad 1 also qualified for State and place 5th out of around 200 teams.  They will attend the state tournament June 2 and 3 in Jacksonville.  Congratulations to the following team members for a great job at Regionals.

Congratulations to the Norphlet Elementary School Accelerated Reader Top Readers in each classroom and the Norphlet Middle School Accelerated Reader Top 10 for the year.  These students were rewarded for their hard work with a trip to Excalibur.​

Bass Fishing Team Excels at Tournament

The team of Trenton Bailey and Will Hill of the Smackover Buckaroo Bass Anglers placed 2nd in the FLW The Bass Federation (TBF) Arkansas State High School Championship Bass Fishing Tournament held on Lake Ouachita this weekend.  The pair of Smackover High School freshmen caught their limit of 5 bass totaling 14 lbs 9 oz.  John Bailey was the Boat Captain for the students.  Their win qualifies them to participate in the FLW world high school championship finals to be held in Florence, Alabama with thousands of dollars of scholarship money at stake along with other prizes.  Other SHS Bass Fishing Team members participating were Wesley Longing/Tyler Hatcher, David Martin/Tyler Earnest, Jacob Muckelrath/Blake Doherty, Joel Brewer/Rett Gatewood, and Harley Williams/Robert Dixon.

Smackover High School began their bass fishing team program this year.  The next tournament on the schedule is the Louisiana Open on the Ouachita River at Monroe, Louisiana.
