SHS Bass Fishing Team Seeking Volunteers

Smackover High School now has a Bass Fishing Team.  We currently have 13 student anglers who are very excited to get started fishing tournaments throughout the state.

Each fishing tournament requires the students to fish in teams of two students per boat and have a boat captain at least 19 years of age.

Anyone who has a boat and is willing to be a boat captain for our student anglers are encouraged to contact the SHS Bass Fishing Team adviser, Jason Arrington, at

NMS Students Participate in STEM Activities

Norphlet Middle School students in Robin Boerwinkle’s Flight and Space experimented to determine what would be the best “rocket fuel”.

Students chose between different types of reactants, as well as the amounts, to put in their film canister rocket.  Their rockets were then fired across the room and measured for distance.

The winners were able to create a rocket that could go the farthest, for the lowest price.
