NMS Students Visit SouthARK Secondary Technical Center

All 8th grade students at Norphlet Middle School participated in a field trip to SouthARK Community College’s Secondary Technical Center and visited all seven of the career programs offered to high school juniors and seniors including:

  • Automotive Service Technology
  • Cosmetology
  • Criminal Justice
  • Health Science
  • Industrial Technology (Mechatronics)
  • Process Technology
  • Welding

SouthArk offers a minimum of five career/technical programs to qualified high school students. Students may receive, not only high school credits for course completion, but college credits, as well. The cost of tuition is free to the student. Books and tuition are provided through SouthArk’s Secondary Technical Center and funded by the local school districts and through the Arkansas Department of Career Education.

FBLA Spring Conference

The Smackover High School FBLA did a great job at the District III FBLA Spring Conference in Pine Bluff last week.  Alex Savage was elected to Vice-President of District III FBLA.  Also, the following students placed in their respective competitive events and now qualify to compete at the state leadership conference:

NES Spring Program

Norphlet Elementary School’s 2nd and 3rd grades will be performing in the Spring Program on Thursday, March 16, 2017, in the auditorium at 9:00 a.m.  They will be singing songs about animals.

Parents, families, and community members are invited to attend!

Early Dismissal Times

The Smackover-Norphlet School District will dismiss at 12:30 on Tuesday, February 14, and Thursday, February 16, for parent teacher conferences.

Parent teacher conferences will be held on the Smackover campuses on Tuesday from 1 – 7 pm.  Conferences on the Norphlet campuses will be on Thursday from 1 – 7 pm.

Smackover Preschool will not dismiss early on either of these days.
