There will be a Smackover Shooting Sports meeting on Tuesday, November 1 at 6:00 pm in the Smackover Cafeteria.
This meeting is to register all students who want to shoot during the 2016-2017 season. Shooting sports is for 6th through 12 grade.
All students must have their hunter’s ed and provide their own 20 gauge or 12 gauge gun. If you have any questions please contact Christi Crutchfield at Smackover Elementary 870-725-3601.
The Annual FFA Fruit Sale is going on now. Meats are also sold along with this fundraiser.

Red Ribbon Week will be October 24 – 28. Smackover Elementary School students may participate in the following Dress Up Days:
- Monday, October 24 – Western Day (Cowboy Up Against Drugs) – Wear jeans or other western wear.
- Tuesday, October 25 – Hawaiian Day (Catch the Wave of a Drug Free Life)
- Wednesday, October 26 – Wear red in honor of Ray Enrique who gave his life in the fight against drugs.
- Thursday, October 27 – Super Hero Day – Save the World! Be Drug Free!
- Friday, October 28 – Career Dress Up Day – Reach your dreams!
Also, students are encouraged to wear orange and black on Halloween which is Monday, October 31.

Mrs. Jordan’s kindergarten students used the engineering design process to develop paintbrushes with a different structure and function than a traditional paintbrush.
What is the engineering design process?
All kindergarten through fifth grade students are learning about the engineering design process and the scientific inquiry process (ask, predict, investigate, observe, and explain) this year through our Project Lead the Way modules and our FOSS Kits.
Smackover Preschool students have been learning about fire safety these past few weeks. The students were so excited to have a real fire truck and a real fireman come to visit their campus!
HOSA will be having a hygiene drive October 19 – 26 at Smackover High School to collect items for the School Based Health Clinic to have on hand for emergencies.

The Smackover Flu Vaccine Clinic will be October 25th!
The CDC recommends that the FluMist NOT be given this year so there will only be injectable vaccine available.
Packets were sent home to parents last week. Paper forms will not be accepted after October 14th. ALL parts of the form must be completed, INCLUDING the insurance information. We cannot give the vaccine if the form is not completed. The form has been revised and is shorter than last year.
